Text information updates

Update text information automatically as soon as new text is received, without any interaction from the driver.

If you’re scrolling or switching text because there isn’t enough space to show it all at once, you can wait until the current scroll or switch has finished before showing the updated text.

Clear display command

If the radio station sends a “CLEAR DISPLAY” command, remove the text from the display immediately, regardless of whether it’s currently scrolling or switching. A “CLEAR DISPLAY” command may be followed immediately by new text, in which case replace the current text straight away, interrupting any scroll or switch in progress.

Update frequency

Text information should not be updated more than once every 20 seconds. Ignore any update that arrives within 20 seconds of the previous one..
