Station Logo

The radio station logo should be shown as adjacent or otherwise very clearly linked to the radio station name.

Radio station logos are available in a variety of sizes and aspect ratios. You should choose the size that best fits the available space, but following these rules:

  1. Do not scale the logo more than 200% or less than 50%
  2. Do not crop the logo
  3. Do not adjust the aspect radio of the logo and stretch or distort them
  4. Do not recolour the logo

If no logo is available, or the available logos can’t be sized appropriately, you can either

1. Best Practice: Use a generic icon to represent radio
Section titled “1. Best Practice: Use a generic icon to represent radio”

Using the radio station icon from your design system is a good option to represent radio when no station logo is available.

Remove the logo area entirely, and reposition the station name to take up the available space.

Radio station logos should be sourced directly from the radio station, and checked frequently for changes.

Changes may happen to the logo visual design, or to the radio station frequencies and/or identifiers (RDS PI code, DAB SId/EId codes etc.). Identifying codes (PI, SId, EId) maybe reused, and do not stay permanently allocated to the same radio station.

For these reasons, it is not permitted to permanently store radio statio logos in the vehicle - there must be a process to maintain the logos and associations to stations. If you are not able to do this (or continue to manage the logos), all logos should be removed from the vehicle and generic default icons used instead.

See the Appendix on the official metadata sources that can be used to populate the radio station logo, and the expected sizes of logos available.
